Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Heres a place where we can all share our family pictures, it costs nothing,
and it's a great way to share with all. I've posted my oldest photos already.
So have many others, imagine what the Childers photo album would look like if
every one contributed just a couple of their oldest family photo's~!!

Hope every one had a wonderful Christmas , I hope for all a very
happy new year. For all of you new to the list let me welcome you. Also to
inform you new folks, I've got a site for Civil War Childers/Childress that I
made up, every Childers/Childress that fought in in war is listed by state.
Along with added information when I could find it! such as regimental
histories, pension papers, photos etc etc, just all the info I could find.
To those that have been there, I've up dated many of the pages with added
information, so check back, theres new material. And as always I'm open to
any questions dealing with our family and the civil war. If you find an
ancestor listed let me know, I usually can dig up more, and help you trace
his steps through the war, if I can, where he was and what he did! ALSO,
I have copies of pension papers of for all the Virginia men that claimed a
pension and copies of pension cards for all the Union men. Still looking for
any photos of these men, even if it's just headstones or way after the war.
Heres the address!

Dear Cousins,
In all your research of Childers/Childress I'm sure some you must
had to have come across Childers/Childress information that didn't fit or was
not relevant to your line as such in Ohio. I was wondering if you had kept
any such info or had discarded it. If you have kept it, I'd be interested in
seeing it, at the present time I'm stuck on John Childers .b abt 1775 -place
unknown. My earliest reference to him is a tax record in 1798 Montgomery
County. He served in the War of 1812, enlisted Miami County(Shelby County
wasn't formed yet). Following tax/land records he remained in Shelby County
and died 1825 in Shelby County. Between 1800 apx. and 1825 he had 8 Childern.
John, James, Harvey, Joseph, Susan, Elizabeth, Phebe Jane, and Sarah. Any odds
and ends you might have could be of help. Of three childern of his I've
traced one states him being born in New Jersey, one gave Ireland, another
England. Any ideas, clues, guess's ?? I'm open to almost any suggestion.
