I have CHILDS in my ancestry. My ancestor is Elijah CHILD, b. 4/11/1737
in Thompson, CT., m. Rachel PALMER 3/24/1759, d. in Sharon, VT. His
parents were Nathaniel CHILD and Dorothy JOHNSON. Nathaniel was b.
9/3/1699 in Woodstock, CT and married Dorothy 12/8/1726. These could
also be the parents of your Ruth. Nathaniel, however was not the only
CHILD in CT. His dad John CHILD was born in CT 8/1/1671 in Roxbury.
His dad, Benjamin, was the immigrant. I unfortunately do not have this
information sourced out yet. I received this info from a Biography. My
gggrandmother was a CHILD.
Hope this may be of some use.

I am challenging other researchers to join the GenWeb Census online
project & asking you to adopt a county to transcribe online. To show good
faith I have submitted for 1850 Boone Co., VA. In looking over the state of
WV there was not one thing assigned !
I think it is a wonderful project! I am always asking how I can help...well
I have now found out how. If everyone just adopted one country for one year
this project would soar! Please go to this address and read about it and
to meet the challenge:

I am also a Chilton and looking for ancestors of my great grandfather, Samuel
Chilton who was born in Tennessee. He married Adelaide Mays who was from
Texas. His son, James Chilton, my grandfather, was born November 8, 1870, in
Tennessee, and died 8/9/41 in Daly City, Calif.
So far I have found a Samuel Chilton born 1840 in Jefferson Tennessee, parents
were James Chilton and Nancy Clark. May be a fit but I'm not sure.
Children of James Chilton ( 54 at time of 1850 Census) and Nancy Clark:
Mary Chilton, b. 1831
Elizabeth Chilton, b. 1833
Harriet Chilton, b. 1836
George Chilton, b. 1839
Samuel Chilton, b. 1840
John Chilton, b. 1842
Do you know of other Chiltons in Tennessee?

grandmother
Catherind Childers. She married Isaac Cheuvront Sept 30,1830 in Harrison

of her. I have been able to find some Childers in th eapproximate area that
I

any
clues at all. Does any one know of Childers from this area, that she may be
connected to, perhaps Childers is not her maiden name? Thank you

gijoeww2(a)etsc.net Tomorrow is June 6, d-day anniversary. Please join
us in remembering my buddies who did not come home from Omaha Beach,
Normandy, France. their folks will appreciate it.
I am looking for Harold Chilton. It is said that he died when his wife
Fannie was pregnant with my Great Grandpa Henry Chilton. No one can be
sure if he died in Tennessee or in Arkansas or Missouri. He must have
died around 1885.
Thank you,
Rachel Norton

Hi,
I am in desperate need to find out any information about my ggg-grandmother
Catherind Childers. She married Isaac Cheuvront Sept 30,1830 in Harrison
County VA (now WV) and was born about the year 1808. This is all that I know
of her. I have been able to find some Childers in th eapproximate area that I
know that Isaac lived but have been unable to make any connectionsa or get any
clues at all. Does any one know of Childers from this area, that she may be
connected to, perhaps Childers is not her maiden name? Thank you

I am still in search of any information on my Great Grandfather John
Asbury Childers and Parents/siblings. His birthdate was August 1826 and
his State of birth was North Carolina, the town I do not know. He
married a lady from Spartanburg, South Carolina so I presume he was from
Western N.C. I keep hoping someone in Carolina will shed some light on
this much needed ancestor. Thanks in advance, James Childers
