Hi folks!
I am attempting to locate information
on Dolly Childs (whose last name I have
seen spelled at least three different ways),
born 1773, who married Chester Upham,
born 2 Jun 1764, on 24 Sep 1799. Most
likely, they were in Thompson, Connecticut.
If anyone out there thinks they can help, I'd
sure love to hear from you!
Thanks,
John

On May 13th, 1774 Thankful CHILDS married Japhet TURNER at Sandwich,
Barnstable Co, MA. According to death records of her children,
Thankful
was born in either Barnstable or Mashpee, yet I can't find a birth
record for
her. She probably was born 1740-1750.
Anyone familiar with the CHILDS families of Cape Cod that might make
any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Bobbie Hall

Need information on the Childress and Guynn families (various
spellings) in
northeast Tennessee (Washington, Jefferson, Grainger, Knox, and
Anderson
counties). My gr-gr-grandfather was James Guynn, b. abt 1820 in TN.
I
believe he may have had brothers, George W. b. abt 1817 in TN, and
William b.
abt 1821 in TN. James, William, and Alexander Guynn witnessed the
sale of
land in Anderson Co. in 1858 which was sold by John and George Guynn.
This
John was b. abt 1805 in VA, and had a son, Alexander. These families
were
listed in either Anderson or Knox counties, TN, in 1850. James,
William, and
George, with their wives and children, went to Texas Co., Missouri,
in the
late 1850's. James m. Hazy (CHILDRESS) DICKSON in 1848, Anderson Co.
William
m. Mary Ann CHILDRESS in Knox Co. Any help on parents, siblings, or
descendants will be appreciated.

This is to apologize to those of you who dislike this kind
of message. It was sent before I realized that I had not rewritten
the mailing list list. Please, if you have any flames, do not
harrass the lists with them, but send them directly to me...
I am truly sorry and the next thing I will do is to
change my mailing list!!!

There are several new mailing lists which may be of interest to you.
The name lists are - DANN-LOCKWOOD-SLAGLE-VANSCOY-WALLER.
The locality list is VAALBEMA-L and all are at RootsWeb. The
locality list is open to discussion of the Albemarle County "AREA" of
Virginia. Discussions will include any county line that touches Albemarle as
well as counties that were split off of Albemarle Co., VA.
OK, good news: your mailing list is ready to roll. Briefly (very),
people can subscribe to your list in mail mode by sending a message
to XXXXXX-L-request(a)rootsweb.com that contains the word
subscribe
and nothing else. If they prefer digest mode, they should send the
command instead to XXXXXX-D-request(a)rootsweb.com. To unsubscribe,
they should send the command "unsubscribe" to XXXXXX-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
(if in mail mode) or XXXXXX-D-request(a)rootsweb.com (if in digest mode.)
To switch from one mode to the other, they should unsubscribe from one
and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if they
want messages to stop, they should simply unsubscribe.
To post to both XXXXXX-L and XXXXXX-D, messages should be sent to
XXXXXX-L(a)rootsweb.com. Messages sent there will appear both places.
Remember, only include the word request if you are subscribing or unscribing.
