Hi.........I too am a member of the Childs family with ancestors coming into Mass. starting with Benjamin. I down loaded a book to PDF from Google entitiled "Genealogy of the Child, Childs and Childe Families" written by Elias Child and was able to obtain some info on my Child/Childs. Maybe this would be something that would help you. It is a long book, but well worth looking at. Many of my ancestors moved around a lot going to Vermont, Connecticut, NY, Michigan and Wisconsin. My mother's maiden name was Childs and her parents moved to Florida in 1912 from Hibbing, Minnesota. Hope that this helps you.
Your friend, who is seeking knowledge of her ancestors, where ever they may be.
Marjorie Hamel (born in FL, lived in Maine for 42 years and now back in FL.)
