Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Many of my Child ancesters appear to have an 's' added but this was probably because in the 19th century the 'd' in parish registers had a curl which looked like an 's'.
My grandfather was most insistant that he was not a 'CHILDS'.
Quite probably the US immigration officer thought there was an 's' on the end when infact it was a 'd'.

I just requested access. My last name is Childs, and I'm told the "s" was added when my grandfather came to the US. I can't wait to have access!
