Leora Child Rich 1906 ~ 2008 Leora Child Rich passed away on January 20, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 101. She was born in Fairview, Wyoming on May 20, 1906. She was the oldest of 11 children born to Horace Ezra and Eliza Jane Taggart Child. Leora was married to Marvin Allred Rich October 25, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marvin preceded her in death. To their union six children were born: Boyd C. (Carmen Ursenbach), Ogden, UT; Erma (Lester N. Clark, deceased), Payson, UT; Lyle Marvin (Jerry Clawson), Salt Lake City, UT; Paul Hyrum (LouAnn Broadbent, deceased, and Cecelia Corbett), Salt Lake City, UT; LaRee (deceased); Karyl (Craig Eustice), St. George, UT. Leora's life was a wonderful example of devotion to family and to the church in which she served in many callings. She was a devoted friend to those with special needs. She worked as Postmaster in her home town for 33 years and in Salt Lake City post office for five years. She and Marvin spent several y!
ears in temple work prior to his passing. Leora is survived by two sisters: Shirley (Lafe Dana), Las Vegas, NV; and Aileen (Karl Belz), Danville, CA. In addition to her five surviving children, she has 26 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., Salt Lake City, UT at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment: Fairview, Wyoming Cemetery at approximately 3:30 p.m. following the services. The family wishes to express special thanks and appreciation to Linda Livingston and Jerry Rich for their loving care and devotion to Leora in her later years.
