I am looking to find relatives of Joseph Child; I have one b.1893 Bucks married Nellie Crewe, his father was also Joseph b.1850 married Emma Lacon b,1850 Stafford. They had George, Charles and Marion. I know Marion died childless, But that is as far as i can go back. Joseph jr. went to Canada but came back for W.W. 1. Is there a connection?
I've "rescued" a group of photographs all appearing to belong to the
STILLMAN-EAMES and STILLMAN-PRESTON Families of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The first is a snapshot photo probably taken in the early 1900's of Mary
Emily S. PRESTON identified as "Mother", Carrie Belle EAMES identified as
"Auntie", Sid EAMES identified as "Uncle", and Clara S. PRESTON.
The second photograph is one of Sidney EAMES which was taken at the Betts
Studio in Bridgeport, CT. It was probably taken in the 1880's with Sidney
appearing to be in his 20's at the time. The third is a photograph of
Sidney EAMES and Carrie Belle STILLMAN EAMES which appears to have been
taken in the 1900's with the couple appearing to be in their 60's or 70's at
the time.
The final two photographs are portraits of Sidney EAMES and Carrie Bell
EAMES which were both taken at the Cochran Studio in Bridgeport, CT. The
photographs were probably taken in the early 1900's with both subjects
appearing to be in their 50's at the time. Based on limited research I
believe that these are photographs of sisters Carrie Bell STILLMAN b. 17
Sept 1856 and Mary Emily STILLMAN b. 7 Oct 1863 both born at Bridgeport, CT
to parents John J. STILLMAN and Caroline Sawyer CHILD.
In 1880 John & Carrie STILLMAN were recorded living in Bridgeport with two
younger daughters, Clara age 19, and Mary age 16. John STILLMAN was listed
as age 61, born in CT, a Shirt Cutter whose parents were both born in CT.
Carrie (Caroline) STILLMAN was listed as age 49, born in NY to parents both
born in SC, though Carrie STILLMAN EAMES notes during that same census that
her Mother was born in NH.
Carrie Bell STILLMAN married Sidney EAMES (b. 1852 in Bridgeport, CT) on 26
May 1875 in Bridgeport, CT. The couple was recorded in the 1880 census
living in Bridgeport, CT with a son Harry H. EAMES age 4. Sidney EAMES was
said to have been born in NH to parents born in MA and NH respectively.
I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that these wonderful old
photographs can be returned to family. If you are a member of this family
or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
