of the Steamer Lexington, b. circa 1800, m. in Providence, RI to Sarah Maria
BEVERLY, on Mar 11, 1824. George died on Jan 13, 1840, when his ship burned
and sank off the coast of Long Island Sound, NY. The ships route was from
Providence, RI to Stonningham, CT to NYC. His widow lived to be 95, dying
Jan 12, 1899 in Providence, RI. She is buried with her parents in the North
Burial Ground in Providence...there is a memorial stone for George Child also
there. Is anyone connected to this family? Can you give me the names of any
