Hi, Olin,
I am related to you through William O. Chilcote. His dad was Logan Augustus son of John whose grandfather is David Chilcote. I am going to visit my Aunt Gwenie next week. She just might have some pictures. She has worked on the Chilcote genealogy and I want to update my search with her info. I think you have been working on this for a long time. I remember your mom talking about you so you probably have more info than we do.
Jackie

Back in 1982 at our Chilcote reunion a Rev. Virgil A. and his wife Louise Chilcote of South Holland, Illinois attended our reunion. Nothing was ever said about any research that they did. I have corresponded with Rev Paul Chilcote.
There is no doubt that the Chilcote families came from England, but where is the hook up. I haven't been able to find any information on what ship they came over on. However they were here in 1679. Check some of dates that are out there and see how they are connect. You just can't take dates and blank space and make them work unless you have something to back them up.

I believe there is documented information regarding the Chilcote line going back to the 1600s in Somersetshire England. There is information on this site regarding that as well as research done by my grandmother (Louise [Goldsmith] Chilcote) and uncle (Paul Wesley Chilcote). I believe it was researched on this site by a Milton Rutter.
