Hi. Thank you for posting that obituary. I don't have Clifford's family in my database yet but I do have a Harold Chilcoat, son of George W. Chilcoat Sr. and Rebecca A. Heck. Can you tell me if my Harold Chilcoat, born about 1909, married Lillian and became the father of Clifford Rodney Chilcoat? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. - Carey

Clifford Rodney Chilcoat, age 83,
beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Masonic Brother, a former resident of Turtle Creek, Pa., and a current resident of North East, Pa., passed away on October 12, 2014, in his home, attended by his family. He was born March 18, 1931, in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, to Harold and Lillian Chilcoat. He graduated from Turtle Creek High School. After high school, Cliff joined the Army. Upon completing basic training, he served eight months training with the Army Engineers, 18 months of his military career was spent in Nome, Alaska, in Army Security. He was then stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and Fort Devens, Mass. Cliff worked for Edgar Thompson Steel, Braddock, Pa., and Homestead Steel, Homestead, Pa. While working at the steel mills, Cliff attended the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and earned an Associate Degree in Engineering. In 1963, Cliff moved his family to Harborcreek, Pa., and took a job with General Electric in Building 5, Wesleyville, Pa.!
Cliff retired from General Electric after 32 years. While working at General Electric, Cliff often held part-time employment at Welch's and Keystone, North East, Pa. Upon retirement, Cliff spent nine years as a school crossing guard at Rte. #89 and Gold Street. He really enjoyed his time serving the community in this manner. Cliff was a member of The Concord Steppers, led numerous 4-H groups and a cub scout troop. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, and a member of the North East Masonic Lodge. Cliff was an avid reader, always reading a couple books at a time. He loved gardening and giving produce from his garden to friends and neighbors. Cliff liked building model airplanes and traveling with his wife. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Haskins. Mona Lee, his wife of 62 years, passed away ten days ago He is survived by a son, Kirt Chilcoat of Wattsburg, Pa.; five daughters, Susan MacArthur of South Jordan, Utah, Kathleen Pelc of Lawren!
ce Park, Pa., Pamela Havern of Erie, Pa., Karen Harvey of Harborcreek,
Pa., and Judith Corbin of Fairview, Pa.; survived by 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, on Wednesday at 12 noon until the time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Harry Johns. Interment will be in North East Cemetery, with full military honors

Mona Lee Chilcoat, age 82, of North East, Pa.
passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at home.
She was born on July 28, 1932, in Turtlecreek, Pennsylvania, to the late Merle S. and Eleanor Hunter Jones.
She graduated from Turtlecreek High School, and was formerly employed at Westinghouse, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Seneca Mineral, in Millcreek, and the North East Township Building, in North East.
Mona Lee was an active member of The Concord Steppers for several years, and was a former 4-H leader.
She enjoyed needlepoint, crafts, reading, and spending time with her beloved husband and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Jones; and two sisters, Grace Addleman and Dolores Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Clifford Rodney Chilcoat, whom she married April 11, 1953, a son, Kirt Chilcoat of Wattsburg, Pa.; five daughters, Susan MacArthur of South Jordan, Utah, Kathleen Pelc of Wesleyville, Pa., Pamela Havern of Erie, Pa., Karen Harvey of Harborcreek, Pa., and Judy Corbin of Erie, Pa.; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Medlin of Houston,Texas.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9, and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Kuchta. Interment will be held at North East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community Nursing of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428.
