Thank you Larry.
Do you have any idea where Mary wound up or may know a researcher who does?

I know nothing of James Montgomery, but his wife Mary M. Chilcoat is the daugther of James Sappington and Eliza Jane Armour Chilcoat
Thomas Chilcoat would be her grandfather.
When the Chilcoat families left Lawrence Co., Al., some when west to Texas, some to Oklahoma. Thomas Chilcoat was in Winston Co., Al and died there.

The above couple were married on Dec 26, 1863.
I would like to know if anyone knows anything about them as I suspect the James MONTGOMERY (b. 1842 Miss.) may be my 3rd ggg's oldest son.
There is a Mary A. CHILCOAT (b. 1845 Alabama) in the 1860 census (Southern Div. Moulton) in the HH of James and Elizabeth CHILCOAT and another Mary T. CHILCOAT (b. 1849 in Miss.) in A. R. and Martha CHILCOAT HH, same census year.
The James Montgomery I am looking for was in upper NE Mississppi after the Civil War, after that there is no trace of him.
These 3 brothers appear in the Lawrence Co. Ala census:
Chilcoat, James: 1,4,1,1,7,0,0,7 (S/O John 1758-1851;Brother to Thomas & Wm. below.)
Chilcoat, Thomas: 1,1,1,1,4,0,0,4
Chilcoat, William: 1,2,1,1,5,0,0,5
I suspect Mary is from these lines as there are scant few CHILCOATS in the area.
Additionally in the Old Prospect Cemetery, Lawrence Co as well, there are these names:
CHILCOAT, Eliza Jane (nee`Armor) Nov 9, 1820-Dec 26, 1845
CHILCOAT,Serena Adeline Dec 2, 1843-Aug 9, 1846
ARMOR, Emily Caroline Sept 15, 1821-Nov 25, 1862
They are buried side by side and very close to the father of James MONTGOMERY.
Where did the CHILCOATS go after leaving Lawrence County?
Thank you and email will not change anytime soon.
