I have quite a bit back on the "my" line - started with Eliphalet Chidester in West Virginia.

Interesting. I'd like to know where the Michael came from. My brother's middle name was Michael but haven't seen it elsewhere in the Chidesters. They were originally Chichester when they came from England. A friend from England has since told me it was pronounced "CHIDESTER" in the local dialect there.

I'm sure we are of the same lineage. The family, originally Chichester, came to the U.S. and dispersed from New York. Many have lived in West Virginia and all were quite prolific in their progeny. Wow, that sounds stuffy. Anyway, on my side I see a man marries - has about 5 kids and the wife dies - then remarries one or more times, producing many. I've had contact with one person from Chicago whose great grandmother came from this line. I find her on the family listing as "gone to Illinois."
