Edmond Chedister
BLAKESBURG - Edmond L. Chedister, a longtime Skagit Valley resident, passed
away on September 25, 2005, at the age of 102.
He was born on December 18, 1902, in Blakesburg, Iowa, the son of Isan T.
and Mellie Hampshire Chedister. He was educated there and on June 23, 1926
he married Myrtle E. Feckley in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Ed looked back fondly on his memories of playing the clarinet in a band in
Iowa. He worked at the Morrell Meat Company in Iowa, before moving to
Burlington in 1952. He has resided in the Skagit Valley since that time. He
was employed by the Skagit Corporation as a payroll accountant.
He is survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle on March 1, 1981;
and his brother, Harold.
Memorials may be given to a favorite charity.
Visitation hours at Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, Wash. are Thursday,
September 29, 2005, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2005, 11 a.m. at the
Hawthorne Memorial Park with Reverend Rand O'Donnell officiating.
A reception will follow the service at the First United Methodist Church,
1607 E. Division St., Mount Vernon, Wash.
