My Chidester said he was born in Ohio and his parents were born in Illinois. He was enumerated as Levi C. Chidester in the 1910 (I think) Census in Redland Township in Cleveland County Arkansas. Anybody out there that can help me find my roots I would be more appreciative than words can begin to express.Even if it is just a point in the direction Thank you in advance. Thanks for being willing to send the photo. It is best to send it directly to rghastie(a)umich.edu.
I have not seen the name spelled Booe. In fact, in the few actual documents that I have seen, the spelling has always been Bugh; on a couple of occasions, I've seen Pugh but that was always when someone else was writing the name.

Ruth, will be glad to send what I have...be patient, tho, I am slow. I will just scan that tintype, if I have your email, if that is okay. Let me know. Also, do you know or have you run across the name Bugh being spelled Booe???? I have a reason to ask that, that I will explain at a later time.
Thanks...Linda

Linda - I am using this old message to contact you - hoping that you still check this site periodically.
I am working on a history of the Bugh family. I am descended from Peter Bugh Sr through his son Peter Jr, grandson John, and great-grandson Martin.
I have been trying to trace the descendants of James and Anna Charlotta (Bugh) Chidester. I know who the children were and when they were born, but I am missing a lot of details on their spouses, where they lived, when they died, etc. Can you help me fill in blanks for these descendants?
In the meantime, I will be glad to share whatever I have on the Bughs that might be of interest to you.
And - I would love to have a copy of the tintype of Peter and Susan Bugh if you can make another one. I 'll be glad to reimburse the cost. And maybe I can think of something equally fun to send your way as time goes on.
Cheers!
Ruth Hastie
