I have understood that Thomas Chick married Joan Farrant. They were both from Thorncombe(married there too) and lived in Axminster. He was a butcher by trade. they had the larger family and their records can be found on www.opcdorset.org/Thorncombe.My family were Thomas Chick who married Joan newton both of Axminster and had 2 daughters,Elizabeth and Sarah.Sarah was my 3x great grandmother and moved to Thorncombe. Her sister Elizabeth moved to Winsham(her daughter went to America too).As I have Chicks on 2 sides of my paternal family and all from Dorset/Devon and Somerset i have been unsuccessfully trying to discern who may be related to whom in ancestry! I think there must be a cousin system at least, and possibly so with your Charles whose parents were Thomas the butcher and Joan Farrant according to records I have seen. i would be interested in your comments on this please.Thank you-Marilyn Younger
