Hello there- I have Chicks in the tree and they all started as far as can
find out in Ilminster or Chard Somerset. The earlist I have gone back to is
1808. I am afraid there are none of the names you mention but with the 10
children John and Eliza (nee Vickery) had they could have spread to Weston
or Burnham!!!I have just moved back to Somerset and live in Burnham but to
date have not met any Chicks apart from my cousins who I have known for a
few years. My mother was a Chick and as far as we can tell my Grandfather
was one of 5 and NO FATHERS appear on the birth certs. I have also been in
touch with other Chicks from the same family and here again no father !!!!
They all came from the clothing mills in Ilminster or Chard.

My nan was Edith Chick She married a Charles Munden, they both came from the
Somerset/Dorset area,they had 7 children,Roy,Ella,Wallace,Rex,Ken,Metford(my
dad)and Ruby, she married a Wiltshire from Wiltshire? they emigrated to
Australia...The Munden/Chick family moved to Worcester,? not sure when. I do
know that my Grandad was disowned by his family, for apparently marrying
beneath him!! Charles was something to do with the farming industry, not sure
if that means his family owned land or he was just a farmer? Edith Chick was
a mill worker. She had a brother called Roland, and another brother called
Wallace or Walter,The latter lived in weston super mare and Roland lived in
Burnham on sea.Not sure if he was married or not,my dad said as far as he
was concerned Roland never mentioned a wife or family. The thing is my dad
says his mum and dad never spoke much about the past as his mum was rather
old fashioned and when he ever asked her questions he said her and his dads
past was not!
hing to do with her kids! hope someone can help us... the only other
relation who is old enough to remember anything is my dads sisters husband
Tom,he was married to Ella Munden he is a Haddlington and they lived in
Shrewsbury... Most of my dads family are buried in crown east church in
Worcester i have even spoke to the local vicar there and he gave me a few
details after i proved i was a family member for research purposes ie; dates
of birth and death for those buried in the graveyard... any help would be
great.. thanks in advance
