My GGGrandfather was Pettis R Chick. I also did not know that Chick Bend was named for him.
I have been searching for years for additional information about him: where he came from etc. Some records say he was born in Virginia, others say Kentucky.
I would greatly appreciate a copy of the Milam County Index if it is something you can attach to an email. My address is: tchick(a)quik.com.

Researching this line of my family, living in Allington, Bridport, Dorset late 1700s, 1800s. Mary Chick was my great great grandmother, believe Richard (a mason) was her brother. Have them on census for 1841 and 51, but strangely absent so far from parish records. Anyone with any info. or wants to have what I know, let me know.
