Dear Barbara
I have been asked this question so many times I feel every one in NZ must be related to this guy<g>.
The short answer is that I have no record of him in my research and from the mail I have seen on lists, etc it would appear that no-one else has either.......sorry
Best regards

Hi David
I was wondering if you are able to help me in my search for my GG-grandfather "George Henry Chick"
born: 18/19 April 1847 in West, Somerset and came from a seararing family.
I don't know who his parents are or if he had any brothers and sister. I have come to a full stop in my search.
There is no Chick family connection in NZ to ask. Unusal name in NZ
The above is all we know about George Chick out side of NZ and we have a lot information on him within NZ as he was a very interesting man. There is a Hotel named after him, which is a historical building to-day 2001yr. George & Ellen Chick's name's are on a plaque in the wall of this hotel. It's called the "CHICK HOTEL" at Port Chalmers, Dunedin NZ.
George and his wife Ellen (nee Warry) they owned this hotel from 1879 to 1825 and has a lot of history on the earley settlers to NZ. George was also a well known Horse breeder, a council member, and lots more..
