I believe you will find that the first wife of Richard Chichester was Anna Brangwin. This is in 'Marriage Licences Issued by the Faculty Office, 1632-1714. The date listed for marriage is '5 Aug 1680', County is 'General', Country is 'England. Hope this helps, even at this late date.

I have in my collection a Chichester Bible.
It has very little info however this may help someone.
It was given to Mary Ann Chichester.
There are 4 births recorded.
George Kerr b. May 7th, 1815
Elizabeth Kerr b. March 20, 1817
William Augustus Kerr b. Aug. 20, 1822
Mary Ann Kerr b. Nov. 7th 1826
I may be wrong, these are very faint & hard to read.
This Bible is part of my collection.

Email me with the Hopkins name. we knew some Hopkins real well, I worked for Mr. Hopkins (forgot his first name, his son's name was Ron) for a year in DC for a company called Group Association Plans. He lived a block away. My brother was extremely good friends with Ron. You can email me direct if you want.
My email is "MPNTHAGS(a)aol.com". Is your house on rt 236 or 123? I can understand you maybe not wanting to tell me exactly where but I betting if he was a lawyer he was probably somewhere near the city and courthouse. By the way we went many years to Truro Epsc. Church and I went to Fairfax HS.
Mike

Thanks Mike! I will look for the book and contact you if I don't find a copy. Yes, the house is in Fx City. Small world, I have a close friend who grow up in your area--last name Hopkins. So far I have found a relative of Agnes & Daniel MacCarty Chichester. Her Grandfather Peyton M Chichester was born in our house in 1884. Looking forward to learning more about the Chichesters!

Daniel McCarty is not my line but I may be able to determine some things. Where is your house; is it in Fairfax City? I grew up in Fairfax just off Burke Station Rd. near 236. The Chichester home from the 1700s was in Newington, and Col. Richard Chichester was George Washington's main confidant in the Rev. War. The home was called Mount Air and the actual house burned down in the 70s. The Chichester's held this house until many of the Chichester's moved all througout the area many to Fairfax, and many to Fauquier Co.s A book that might be helpful to you is a book on Mount Air, check with the Genealogical Society, the I am sure have a copy. Feel free to email me for information. I may have a copy of the book around somewhere. I work in Springfield, and live in Waldorf. Mike

I'm not sure where my Daniel McCarty Chichester (Mac) fits in but I live in his old house in Fairfax, Va. His wife was Agnes Robisnon Moncure and they occupied the house from 1878-1902. He was a Judge and CW veteran of the "Fairfax Rifles". The house needed much renovation & I've needed inspiration, I would like to contact relatives who would know about them.

Hi Bob,
I'm a Chichester and those Long Island Chichesters and their ties can get confusing. I am related to an Ebenezer who married Mary Ogden then Sarah Robinson. Was wondering if you came across any info relating to them. Thanks for any help.
