I think your Father, formerly known as Francis Ervin Chichester, is my half-brother. I have been searching for information about my birth Father(Francis Ervin Chichester ) since my mother passed away and found that he had a son who was named after him and this son was adopted by a stepfather named Ahlman. As for the connection to Sir Francis Chichester, I believe it is a myth. Allthough I have not been able to find my birth Father, I did manage to locate my original birth certificate and found that he was from Trout Creek Michigan. There is a website there with a "centennial book" that contains some interesting information. Your grandfather married my mother in 1945 or 46. I have a brother who was born in 1947 and I was born in 1949 in Albion Michigan where Francis ervin and my Mother had a photography studio. They divorced in the early 1950's and it's anyones guess where he went next as I and my brother were also adopted by my Mother's next husband and were forbidden to spe!
ak of him or ask questions. The Ontonagon County birth records (Trout Creek ) say that Francis Ervin Chichester (your Grandfather ) was born in 1918. So if he is still alive he is living proof that the good die young because he sounds (from what information I have gathered) like a very bad boy. At least he wasn't boring. Good luck in your search!
