Steven,
I have a Katherine Chidester/Chichester, b 7 Aug 1760, who married Gabriel
Strang, b. 14 June 1755 in prob The Clove, Fishkill, Saratoga, NY.
I have not had a chance to research the Chidesters yet but have extensive
information on the Strang line. Could my Katherine be a sister of your
Daniel of Scipio, born ca 1760?
Would appreciate your sharing your info if we connect here.
Thanks, Emma
Hi Stephen and Chichester List,
Saw your note on the Chichester web.
I am interested in knowing about your Daniel Chidester. Is it this family
that had a David and a Daniel Chidester who both married a Warring? One of
them was a Katherine? I have seen a history of the Warring family, and two
daughters of the same person married a Chidester. Also, where is your Daniel
first in the census? Is he the one in Ballston Spa area in 1790? How and
when did he get out to Scipio?
I am descended from a James Chichester from Greene Co. Never found out who
his parents were, may never know! He was born about 1755 and married a woman
named Lavinia Huston. He is on a list of volunteers in Anthony VanBergen's
regiment in 1777. May have had a brother Samuel who was also on this list.
He later moved to Schoharie County, NY.
I would like to know more about your Daniel, at least for a better
understanding of the family!
