Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I found an interesting Website for information about Scotland. You should
check this out
http://www.urie.demon.co.uk/genuki/ABD/index.html
on that page click on Aberdeen Parishes and towns
Choose F, then Fyvie
read down Fyvie, then look for detailed description of the parish written in
1875.
I think all Cheyne researchers will find it interesting.
I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello,
I'm sorry that I can't help you but my great grandmothers name was Martha
Amelia Cheney,
Her maiden was Martha Amelia Wiley. Most of the Cheneys on my family search
came from
Ottawa, Canada. My great grandfather, Franklin Josiah Cheney came from a
family of six
sons and most of them immigrated to the states of NH, NY and ME. I cannot
find out about
any of his brothers as they went all different directions after they were
adults and did not keep
in touch. My late uncle, Franklin C. Cheney looked enough like Dick Cheney,
the former secre
tary of State to be his brother. I know that he is from the Montana area so
you might want to
check up on his background.
Good luck and if you come across any Cheneys from the Ottawa area let me
know,
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Shirley Shutler
I am looking for Martha Emoline Cheney or Emmaline Martha Cheney born 3 Dec
1840 in New York. She was married to A. E. Robinson which could be Alfred
or Alvin. She may have been divorced. She died in Colorado 3 Mar 1918.
Thanks for any help.
Elaine
Thought that I would pass this email message on in case someone is
interested in this Helen Cheyne.
>I am a rather casual researcher in Gorman family history. We have links to
Old Machar in Aberdeen. Today, I searched Old Machar on the internet and
came across the Cheyne Family. This rang a bell. A Martin Gorman, who is not
related to me so far as I know, is listed as being married to Helen Cheyne.
They had at least 2 children, John Gorman, born Jan 5, 1855 (from St.
Nicholal Church records?) and Mary Ann Gorman, born Sep 5, 1857 (from
Newhills Church records?). I checked the Helens listed and noted one
christened Dec. 3, 1832. The site notes that she was a house servant in
1851. Could be the one that married Martin. I thought you might be interested.
