Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The CHEYNE discussion group is back up !!!! For the past month, a SPAM
attack has left all RootsWeb discussion lists inoperative. A new server and
new location has finally brought the list back to life after a great deal of
time and effort by Larry Stephens and Karen Isaacson. I'm sure we all offer
them grateful thanks for all they have done--all without compensation.
This e-mail discussion group dedicated to genealogical matters relating to
the CHEYNE family, wherever they they are located.
NOTE: If you have received this list there is NO NEED TO RESUBSCRIBE. This
has already been taken care of.
To initially subscribe to the list, instructions are as follows:
MAIL MODE: send a message to CHEYNE-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
that contains the word:
subscribe
AND NOTHING ELSE. (If your mailer includes a signature, TURN IT OFF.)
If you (or anyone else) would like the DIGEST MODE
send a message to CHEYNE-D-request(a)rootsweb.com
that contains the word:
subscribe
AND NOTHING ELSE. (If your mailer includes a signature, TURN IT OFF.)
To switch from one mode to the other, you should unsubscribe from one and
then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if you want
messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe. The address is the same as
the one given to subscribe..
TO POST MESSAGES:
To post to both CHEYNE-L and CHEYNE-D, messages should be sent
to CHEYNE-L(a)rootsweb.com. Messages sent there will appear both places.

I suggest you stash this message away in case you have questions later.
