I have changed my email address to MarshaHamilton(a)windstream.net
I have a William Temple Chewning born about 1799 who lived in Green Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Hardin W. Chewning. Hardin was the son of William Chewning Sr. who can be found in records of Louisa, Caroline and Spotsylvania Counties. This William also had other children, Richard who was in the revolution, William, and a daughter Philadelphia and unnamed others I am sure. William was born prior to 1743.
I am not sure how he relates to Samuel Chewning b abt 1722 md Jeanette Nancy Garrett of Caroline Co. VA, but I am sure he does. I believe his land was near Joseph and George Chewning who were brothers of our Samuel.
Can anyone tell me who this William Temple Chewning and his parents were?

I'm researching Hardin Chewning, born 1757 in Campbell, VA and died 1815 in Hardin, KY. This sounds like the same Hardin that you mentioned. My known tree only includes ancestors that I'm a direct ancestor of, so I have Woodruff born in 1795 as one of his sons, which might be the brother of William Temple. I don't have any records of who Hardin's parents were or his children, other than Woodruff. My records show that Hardin married Elizabeth Holland of Pennsylvania. I would love to share more information about Hardin Chewning.
