Their son, William W. Chewning was married to Jeanette JACOBUS Notes For Janette JACOBUS:
(1) 1789-90 Will is in Caroline Co., Va
(2) The "Vestry Book of Christ Church Parish," lists a meeting of the Vestry on Oct 08, 1713
Ordered that Joseph JACOBUS of the age of fifteen yeares May last be bound by th Church Warden to Matthew Hunt 'till shall have attainted the age of one and twenty yeares."
Probably a brother.

nette had an estate of 400 acres startling in 1789 and continuing into 1795 when it was distributed to George Chewning's heirs (100 acres) and 100 acres to John Chewning, heirs and 100 acres to Joseph Chewning
I do not know the relationship of Janette to John Chewning his heirs had it until the deed book ended in 1799.
Joseph Chewning sold to Erasmus Allen in 1795. In 1797 Erasmus Allen received 100 acres from the estate of John Hackney so he held 200 acres of land that was originally land of Janette Chewnings.

The John Chewning to which you refer was b. abt 1750 Carolina Co., VA; d. between 1828-1829, Spotsylvania Co., VA; bur. Locust Grove Plantation, Spotsylvania Co., VA was married to Rachel Vass about 1780. Rachel was b. abt 1760, Spotsylvania Co., VA; d. abt. 1815, Spotsylvania, VA; bur. Locust Grove Plantation, Spotsylvania Co., VA.
Issue: Mary "Polly" b. bet 1780-81; John H., b. abt 1783; George W., b. abt 1785; William V., b. abt 1790; Elizabeth "Susie", b. abt 1796; Catherine "Betsey, b. abt 1800. The three daughters of John & Rachel never married. Since Rachel predeceased John, there was no need of her mention in his will.
I descend through William V. Chewning.
John Chewning's parents were: Samuel Chewning & (?) Garrett; Samuel was b. 21 Jan 1723; d. abt 1816; will prob. 1818, which lists children: William, John Garrett, Sarah, Frances, Lucy, Nancy & a granddaughter, who presumably is from a daughter who predeceased Samuel Chewning.
Samuel Chewning's father was William, b. 1695; d. 1757, m. Janet Jacobe(Jacoby), who d. 1793.
William's father was Robert Chowning, Jr., b. 1659, d. 1698, m. Ann Pooley who d. 1698.
Robert Chowning, Jr.'s father was Robert Chowning, Sr., who m. Joan (?).
Robert Cheowning, Sr.'s father was George Chowning.
