Hi,
I have Samuel in my Chowning chart. The Middlesex Co's. Christ church has Samuel son of William and Jennet Chowning born Feb 11 baptized same day 1722(perhaps showing that child was in trouble) and then on another page Samuel son of William and Jennett Chowning born Jan 21 baptized Feb 16, 1723.
There is no further references to Samuel in this Parish Register of Christ Church, Middlesex Co., VA 1653-1812. I believe I have e-mailed other descendents of Samuel and they have given me listings of children and most of the time it is a list of 8 children, none were Elizabeth(however could it be a middle name.)
There is another listing of a Samuel Chewning, JR who married Mary Jackson in SC and their children listing is about 14. This list was on geocities.com/heartland/forest/4174/pafg04.htm
A John Chewning of Spotsylvania Co, in his Will of March 1828 lists an Elizabeth
Smiles,
Mary in Alabama
