Hi I am new to the list but not to genealogy been doing this for about
30 years started working on my husbands line first and due to the fact
no one ever talked about my fathers side of the family I didn't have
much to go thank heavens for the internet<g> I found my connection to
the CHEWNING line one nite searching any info on Ashdown Little River AR
looking for my grandmother's parents I got lucky and found a cemetery
listing for Peytonville cemetery in Ashdown, there many BASS and
CHEWNING are buried. still didn't know then that the Chewning and Bass
were connected. not until I received info from a Joan and she sent me
info on Fannie Adams Chewning back to David in GA. so now I am trying to
locate any CHEWNING connected to David.
I kept running into that brickwall head on so I figured maybe if I found
out where the first CHEWNING came from to the US I might know where to
look on the migration of the families. I hope this answers some
questions as to why I am asking about any and all CHEWNINGs in SC or GA.
thank you laveta townsend some of my other llines are listed on my Old
Souls site
