Thanks for the info Bob. Hannah Chew (daughter of Richard Chew and Francis Woodard) is most likely the same Hannah Chew that married my ancestor, William Crosthwait. She was only married to him for 3 years before she died during childbirth in 1728 so that could be why is why not mentioned. Again, thanks for looking into this for me. Debbie

Debbie, Did some searching in Bob Chew's book and here is what I have found, Hannah Chew d/o Richard Chew b.1655, died 1726, in 1675 he married Francis Woodard. Hannah was born in 1680, the 3rd of 10 children, Flushing NY area. Hannah married in 1706 to Edward Newby Woodbury NJ. They had three children, Nathan, Gabriel, and Rachel. Her husband Edward died in 1715. Hannah remarried 1719 to a George Ward. There is no further mention of Hannah in the book about her death or a marriage to William Crosthwait. I went over to the Crosthwait site in Roostweb and found a posting in 2006 about him that said he had married a Hanna Ward. I noticed that you had made a posting there about the Crosthwait information. Cannot verify anything, but chances are this might be the Hannah Chew Ward that William married. Bob ohio

Thanks for the heads up. It is Hannah Chew from the NJ connection (dau of Richard and Frances Woodard) who I am interested in. I believe she is the "Hannah Chew" who married William Crosthwait (my 6x grt grandfather) at Christ Church in 1725.

Be very careful. Much in this book, especially the very early lineages and the New Jersey connection have never been authenticated.

The book was published by the Gloucester County (NJ) Historical Society.
You should be able to get to their website and see the list of their
publications. Cost when I purchased it was in the $30 range (give or take).
If you can't find their website, the street address is 58 North Broad
Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
Regards,
Joan Bretz
