Wife Neglected For Horse, She Says in Petition
Mabel Chew filed petition in district court yesterday for
divorce from Fred L. Chew, offering extreme cruelty as
grounds.
She alleges that they were married November 23, 1889, in
Kansas, and that they have no children. She says that he
has never shown any affection toward her during their
married life and that when she was seriously ill with
congestion of the lungs, he devoted his attention to a
sick horse instead of waiting upon her.
Mrs Chew also claims that he failed to buy her any medicine
at various times when she was ill, and that he has constantly
used profane language in her presence. She asks a divorce
and costs of the case.
