Jane,
Are you still researching this line of the Chew's? I know this post
is quite old (2000), this is my family.
Thomas and Hannah (Waller) Chew are my great, great grandparents.
Thomas was married once before, unfortunately I do not have his first
wives name, they did have children.
Thomas had a son and a daughter, the son, was Elwood Chew, the
daughter was Lilly (Lily?) Chew who married Charlie Smith.
Elwood married Louisa Ellen ( I don't know last name) and they had 4
children, Zula, nickname Pet, Roy, Charles E. and Clifford Chew (my
grandfather). Clifford married Delia A Reno, they had two children,
Charles (my father) and Mary Carolyn Chew Swope.
My father married Barbara Sharp and had 6 children, Julie Chew
Millikan, Karen Chew Strong, Charles Douglas Chew, Mark and Mike Chew (twins)
and Kristin Chew McBride.
I would like to see what else you know about my family. The Parr's
and the Mundy's were related to the Chews, I have copied and pasted your
message from RootsWeb below.
Best Regards,
Julia Chew Millikan

"Jane" may have been her middle name. She was born abt 1700 and married William Lindsey, also of Spotsylvania. Both died in Brunswick Co VA in the 1760s. Descendants went to NC and SC.
The Chews in Spotsylvania were close with Buckners, Martins, Robertsons, Beverleys, Smiths, and Durhams.
Any idea who Jane Chew's parents were? Jane is my 6xgreat grandmother.
