Richard
Your grandfather's father was Minard Thomas Chew (Born in Illinois) who married in 1902 Nelly Gay Evans (Born in Kansas 1885). Minard Thomas Chew's father is Richard Chew (Born 1849 in KY) who married Margaret A. Thornton in January 30, 1873. Much more information on the Chews later.
My grandfather (Minard Chew in Portland Oregon) was the brother of your
grandfather. I Never really knew him though and am like you looking for
information about him. My grandmother was a great help in information but
still very limited. I was united with these family members in 1993. Velma
Chew (Cole died last December) who was the wife of Minard. My hopes is to
share information. My last name has been changed as I was adopted by my
step father.

I would be interested in seeing the picture. Can you post it on the internet somewhere? I tie into that family.

Lisa,
Just getting back into the family tree. Sorry I didn't notice your reply sooner (or did I and forgot?).
Uncle Elisha Chew was (I'm sure) the brother of Eli P. Chew and the s/o Nathaniel & Rachel (Eldridge) Chew. I can scan the pictures and send them to you if you wish. All those in the album, I'm sure, are from southern NJ.
The Chew family is not my line. I'm interested in the GENTRY family from southern NJ.
Let me know,
Dave

Eli P. Chew was the s/o Nathaniel & Rachel (Eldridge) Chew. The Chew family, from southern New Jersey, is well documented on the internet, but is not my family so I don't have much info on them. I do know where some of the photos in the album fit in to my family.
I am looking for the GENTRY family. Margaret Gentry, the w/o Eli P. Chew, and her brother George Kelly Gentry were two of the eight known children of Casper H. & Ann (Hartman) Gentry.
Hope this helps,
Dave

David, were you able to locate the family the Chew's in your photos belong to?
