Sorry I took so long to reply, but the truth is I don't know. I do not know who Richard Chews father was. Chews also landed in NY in the mid 1600's, and they may have migrated to NJ. I wish I could be of more help.
Rich

Thank you so much for your information. It will help greatly. Do you know if this line fo Chews is related to the Chews that built the Cliveden House?
Thank You!
Michelle

Minor was born on 30 Jul 1818, to William Chew and Jane ?. William was born in 1783, in NJ, and was the son of Richard Chew and Rachel Ball. I can give you the source in a seperate email if you wish (I do not like using names on the web unless they tell me it is okay). I hope this helps.

I need help!
I can not find the father or mother of Minor T Chew. All my research ends here. I would like to proceed but can't. He married Jane Short. He was born in New York in the year 1818 and died in Decatur, Illinois in the year 1886.

I would like to know if any of the Chew Family moved to Ponotoc, MS. I have a number of family members in this particular city with this name. I am trying to trace my family history. Also did any Chew family own slaves?
