Subject: {not a subscriber} Ann Chew, Maryland
A number of hints indicate that the wife of Thomas Johnson (1729-1778) of
Flag Pond, Doubs, Frederick Co., MD, may have
been an Ann Chew.
The will of one John Drury Chew, dated 1780, leaves a legacy to his sister,
Ann Johnson, for the education of her oldest child,
John Johnson. Other evidence indicates Ann Johnson was then living in the
Frederick County area. The eldest child of Thomas
and Ann Johnson was John Johnson, and by 1780 (when John Drury Chew's will
was signed) Ann was a widow.
Does anyone have any information on these Chews or the Chew family of
Frederick Co., MD generally?
