Sarah Rolle Chew b 12 Jul 1814 daughter of William Lock Chew Jr. b 10 Apr
1778 and Rebecca Freeland 1785-1840.
Sarah Married 1st Spense Monroe Grayson 1800-1839
then married Francis Thorpe Grayson dates unknown.
No issue with either man, that I know of.
Sarah, assuming she married at age 21, would have married Spense abt 1835.
Then he checked out in 1839, so she went back to the well and drew Francis.
Is there a relationship between Spense and Francis?
If they were brothers, possibly Sarah remarried a younger brother after
Spense died so young.
Using my G dates, the two men would have been of a generation that they
could be the sons of Beverley Robinson Grayson (and I'd like confirmation on
that name alone...) and Sarah Chew 11 Jul 1770-unk. This Sarah was the
daughter of William Loch Chew SR. 1746-1801 and his wife Elizabeth Reynolds
G 1746-1801.
Sarah I have no children for but she was married 3 times. So, by the
time she got around to Grayson, she could have been 30+ years old.
I show married 1st Allen Bowie G 1770.
Married 2nd Frisby Freeland G 1770, (which could make him the brother of
Rebecca Freeland (1785) who married William Loch Chew Jr. and was then
mother to the first Sarah Rolle Chew above). Dizzy point!
Married 3rd Grayson.
If anyone could help unwind this for me, I would sure appreciate it.
