I'm always interested in CHEWs in Canada, starting with
Joseph CHEW (abt 1725-24 Sep 1798)
Joseph CHEW was born in Virginia, lived most of his life in New London,
Connecticut and died in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Joseph CHEW married, on 12 Mar 1758, Grace DESHON of New London,
Connecticut.

Karen,
I'd be interested in what you have on the Chew's. I've hit a roadblock and
you may have the answer.
send to: jstark(a)shelbynet.net
Thanks!

My CHEW ancesters came from Ann Arundel County, Maryland.....I have quite a
history on them as well as the Burgesses and both families were the EARLY
SETTLERS in Ann Arundel County back in the early 1600's and their sons/sons
fought in the Revolutionary War.....SO, some of your Chew's may have also
been on "OUR" side and not on England's as you suspected. If you want to see
the history on the early Chew's of Ann Arundel County, let me know and I'll
send it to you direclty as an attachment. Attachments are not supposed to be
included with CHEW-List e-mails but sent directly to person's asking for info
to be attached.
Anyway, if you want more info, let me know.
Thanks,
Karen Cromie
Cindi,
Do you have any more info on Ernest Chew? I'm curious as my mom spent alot
of time on a ranch in Montana and her father was Earl Chew.
reply to me persojnaly not to list.
John
Debi,
Let me see here. He was my Great Grandfather and my Great Grandmother was
born 1 Feb. 1886. Her SS number was issued before 1951 in California. I
don't even know her maiden name and if I make another long distance call to
Michigan, the Scotsman will have a fit! LOL Their daughter, my
grandmother, was born 12 Jan 1908.
Again, my 70 yr old aunt (his granddaughter) says the picture of him in
front of his blacksmith shop is one of the old type and was taken in Montana
probably around the turn of the century.
Thanks!

Hello,
I was looking at the two e-mails about this family and noticed two
things...dob for Benjamin CHEW was April 12, 1671, he married Elizabeth
BENSON in 1692, so far, so good...then comes Mary CHEW...she can't be their
daughter if she was b. 1682 in New Kent Co., Va.....Anyone else have any
info. on this that might help "Oatman"?
