Sandra,
I'm hoping to find time over the summer to get back down to the
geneology dept. at the library. I'll make a note of both last names
and see what I can find. I did find newspaper articles on the
shooting which were very interesting. I have some dates written down
at home that I want to look into some more also, but didn't have the
time while I was down there. Keep me posted!
P.S. I also got info from the Woodlawn Cemetary about a couple sites
there for William Meyer. I plan to check them out soon to see if
they are connected. I'll let you know what I find.

Hi Group,
I was recently looking over what I had on Julia. At one time I remembered that Julia listed her Maiden name as Treat instead of Kellog. Aunt Lilas said that Julia was orphaned and then adopted by the Kellog family. I started looking into thhis and found a man by the name of George Treat, Oregon Twp. Clerk in Lucas county in late 1830, when the town Oregon was being developed. I looked up in the 1860 census and found that he has a daughter Julia - 19 years old. That would mean that she was born in 1831. This might fit?
Ansestry.com has a lot more on the family but I do not have a subscription to the World tree part. I will try to look more into this family. Has any one else tried? I only have a story by Bob's Aunt that Julia was orphaned and then adopted. Might she have been a kellog adopted by Treat?
