Hi all - boy do I have a puzzle about which Grant is which.
John Howard Cheuvront, in his booklet on the Cheuvront family, lists a Sarah
Grant as a wife of Aaron Cheuvront. However, none of his information was
varified by him, and was all gotten by interviews.
This is the 2nd Grant I have for Aaon's wife:
From Henckle Genealogy, by Junkin & Junkin, page 238: “Aaron Cheuvront born
May 14, 1782 Virginia; married (1st) marriage bond July 11, 1803, Harrison
County, Virginia (now West Virginia) to Sarah Richards. Surety for bond Joe
Stout. Married (2nd) Amanda Grant and removed to Jackson County now in West
Virginia. No known issue. He was included in the will of his father as the
oldest son and was to receive 95 acres of Jesse’s Run, Lewis County, Virginia
(now West Virginia) provided he pay wife Sarah $25.00 in trade.”
Many have also found many mistakes in this publication.
Now, we have a Matilda Grant listed also as a wife of Aaron Cheuvront on the
death/burial list from Maddox Cemertery, Jackson Co., WVA.
Which first name belongs with the wife of Aaron Cheuvront?

Hello Cousins - This file that I have in a mess is Aaron Cheuvront (s/o
Joseph Cheuvront & Elizabeth Elsworth) I have been going through a listing of
death/burials sent to me by our cousin Gloria Husk. And, I think my file on
Aaron, and his wives is in a big mess. And boy to I need some help
straightening it out.
According to the death/burial list -
"(Aaron's 1st wife Matilda Grant is buried at Good Hope, Harrison Co., WVA)"
If this is correct, then it would seem very probably that Matilda was the
first wife, as Aaron and family resided at Good Hope before removing to
Jackson Co.
Sarah Rose Cheuvront is listed as the second wife of Aaron Cheuvront, b. Oct
11, 1781, d. Jan 10, 1841, buried Maddox Cemetery, Jackson Co. WVA. Does
anyone have a marriage date?
Matilda Bolin Cheuvront is listed as the 3rd wife of Aaron Cheuvront b.
c1814, d. Mar 6, 1887, buried Maddox Cemetery, Jackson Co. WVA. Now, who was
this, and does anyone have a marriage date?
The marriage dates will be a great help to put the children with the proper
parents.
All help is greatly appreciated - Dot

Does anyone have any information on this Levi Cheuvront? All I have is what
you see. What I am trying to do, since Lyne (our web site lady) has no
more room to put more on the site, so I am putting together a seachable
manuscript so when anyone has questions maybe I can help. I have included the
families of all of Joseph Cheuvront and Elizabeth Elsworths children. You might
say that I am compiling an "information central" for the Cheuvront family.

Hey Dot,
I LOVE your "Cheuvront request" pages. Keep them coming. Maybe... just
maybe, one of these days I will be able to contribute something of
interest to your dedicated works on the Cheuvront family.

Hi Cousins -
We got one question answered - the Aunt Ann Cotrill was Joanne (Ann)
Cotrill, daughter of Luther Cotrill.
Isn't it great how we all work together.

Hi cousins -
Can anyone tell me who is India Riffle Cheuvront.
This is what I have:
Mary Ann Cheuvront , (daughter of Caleb Cheuvront and Rebecca Covert), was
born July 18, 1833 at the Cheuvront Farm near where the village of Good Hope is
now located. She Succumbed at the home of her niece in sight of her
birthplace on Jan. 3, 1929, age 95 years, 5 months and 15 days. She stayed with
her mother while she lived but immediately following her mother’s death, she
was supposed to go and live with her brother Joe. Joe had recently married a
young woman, his second wife, India Riffle, who didn’t want to be bothered
with Mary Ann as she was almost 47 years old. India said to Mariamme Cheuvront,
“I’m going to get Mary married to that Dow”, who had been a farmhand for
years on the Old Cheuvront Farm. So just ten days after Mary’s mother died on
March 14, 1880, she and Lorenza Dow Waugh were married. [Lorenzo Dow Waugh,
b. 1841, Harrison Co., WVA, d. c1926, Doddridge Co., WVA]. They continued to
live in the old Swisher house at Aunt Ann Cottrill’s for one year, then lived
on the Ramage place on Raccoon Run for two years, and eight years on the
Nutter place on Isaac Creek. Then they bought 30 acres not far from Big Isaac
in Doddridge County, where they continued to live until the death of Lorenza
Dow Waugh about 1926. Mary Ann Cheuvront Waugh was converted and joined the
Methodist Church when she was 11 years old and thus was a member of the Church
for 84 years.

Hey Dot,
Well ! I see you are back into genealogy ! Good Girl ! Sorry, I
can't help you with the guy in question. Maybe when I get back into my
files something will jump up and bite me. Ho! Ho!
So glad the storms missed you; but I felt you were in safe arms.
I have been busy trying to put out a few veggie plants. Nothing going
right...one of those times that we all have. He! He! I've been rather
lazy. Can't seem to chuck up much energy. That's one of the beauties of
old age...if you don't have sense enough to slow down, Mother Nature
simply hits you over the head with a wet noodle. Ho! Ho!
Got your recipes. Will try them soon as the company starts visiting
within a month.

Hello all - I am looking for information on the wife & children of Sylvester
(S)Cheuvront. He was the son of Joseph Cheuvront and Hannah McInnis, born
1844 in WVA, died NE.
He was listed on the 1880 LDS Census, Salt Creek, Cass Nebraska with the
William Coleman family. Age 34, Widow, born WVA, father born VA, mother b. NY.
Now, my question is - does anyone know who his wife was, and children?
