I recently received the January 2008 newsletter for the Rev. Anthony Jacob Henckel Family National Association, Inc. For those of you who do not know, the Cheuvront family is related through Joseph Cheuvront and his wife Elizabeth Ellsworth. Her parents were Moses Ellsworth and Anna Maria Elisabeth Henckel.
The newsletter mentioned that the 2007 reunion had a speaker, Dr. Stephanie Wolfely-Mitchell of Taylor, Missouri. Her presentation was "on information from an antique bible that was owned by Joseph Cheuvront. Mr. Cheuvront was a blacksmith at Fort Henckel in Germany Valley in now Pendleton County, WV and married John Justus Henckel's granddaughter, Elizabeth Elsworth. He kept an articulate diary in the margins of the Bible pages, which provide a wealth of new information about Fort Henckel and the activities in the area including Muster rolls of Fort Henckel Militia in the Revolutionary War. Dr. Mitchell's program with a power point presentation of pictures of Joseph Cheuvront's notes was fascinating to all in attendance."
The current newsletter states that the reunion this year will be held June 13-15 in Winchester, VA at Shenandoah University. If you are interested in attending the reunion and would like to receive the newsletter, contact Robert Moore at: Moorer(a)shentel.net or write to him at:

Perhaps we can have a large contingent of Cheuvronts attending the reunion this year !
