I'm posting this for a friend's Mom. Her husband, W.D. (Buddy) Chestnut of Horry County, SC, passed away this past year, and in 2000 he published his genealogy research in a hardback book, "The Echoes of Daniel Chesnut (Chestnut, Chestnutt)". She recently discovered a box still available (for sale). If interested, you can reach her at: margaretchestnut(a)scfbins.com

They were my great grandparents too. My grandmother was Delia Chestnut Coffin and she had six children: Comilla, Lloyd, Claudie, Etrulia, Ashley and my Dad, Charles Monroe. I don't ever recall hearing about anybody with the last name of Chestnut in the Asheboro or Piney Ridge communities that I visited all of my life. I grew up in Philadelphia and I graduated from NC A&T in 1976. I am very knowledgeable about all of my first cousins. My name is Chuck Coffin, Centreville, VA.
