Lisa Chestnut Shivel,
You sent an e-mail to the Chestnut list last August. Do you know more than you did?
Where might your Joseph S. CHESTNUT have been born?
Do you have any kin with the CHESTNUT surname? a brother? an uncle (your dad's brother, uncle or nephew)? If you have CHESTNUT kin, have you tried to acquire their cooperation to collect a DNA sample and send it to be tested. There is a small CHESTNUT/CHES_NUT DNA Project. If you send the CHESTNUT / CHES_NUT DNA sample, while signed up for the CHESTNUT DNA Project (Group), you will received the group rate which is a few less dollars (than not being in a group at all).
Kay Chestnut, wife of Ned - descendant of Robert CHESTNUT [born Ireland married New Brunswick died New Brunswick, CANADA]
