My great great grandfather , John Chestnut, left the United Kingdom taking one of his daughters, Charlotte, with him. He was born in 1839 and she was born in 1867. This has been a family mystery for generations. We know that Charlotte eventually married a Herman Heidelberger in New York. Does anyone know what happened to John or Charlotte?

My great grandparents are Thomas Boyd Chestnut and Marie Landrigan (Ireland). Their son Robert John Chestnut was born(1909) in NSW Australia. I have just started researching my ancestors and would appreciate any info or tips. How has the name Boyd become associated with Chestnut?
Alternatively I have much information of the Australian component of Chestnuts and would like to correspond with any relative.
Thanks Sioux
