Chestnuts (Chesnuts) mentioned in the Philadelphia Public Ledger Death Index located at the Free Public Library of Philadelphia on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway (at 20th Street) as transcribed by William J. Chestnut and William S. Chestnut.
Important Note: The names in the index may be the name of the deceased in an obituary, or may be simply a mention in the obituary. For example, it might say, “James Smith died May 23. His funeral will be held at the home of John Chestnut on May 25.”
You can look up the obituary on the microfilm copies of the newspaper also available there to determine what it actually says.

Centre, AL and Leesburg, AL is full of Chestnets. They are both located in the NE quadrant of AL. I don't know if that helps or not.
