Hi,
I suspect George is my cousin and he moved down from rural Wisconsin. His father was a Methodist preacher who died in the Civil War.
My link is somewhat circumstantial as our George disappeared from the UK without dying as far as we can see and the George arrived in the USA became a Methodist preacher after being a shoemaker and the father I have Thomas Chester was a shoemaker/small time farmer and strong Methodist. Also the DOB and original matches.
He had a sister Carrie A Chester (c.1827 Wisconsin) last known of in Wisconsin in 1870 who may have married and had a family?
There may be some records on the preacher father George in the local Wisconsin Archive if you still live in that part of the world? I've got more details somewhere
We had several family go to the States and Canada including my Great Grandfather who returned to the UK and it would be great to find out if they met up with any cousins. Is there a way of sending private messages? I haven't used this much.
I think the Marriage is mentioned in a family history book, again I have more details somewhere.
