Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Gangi Chester,age. 94,
of Hillsborough, N.J.,
formerly of Mt. Pleasant,
died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, in Foothill Acres, Hillsborough, NJ.
Mrs. Chester was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Anthony and Clara (Melillo) Gangi. Bettie was a 1934 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Western Electric and Tung-Sol Electric as an electronics technician. Bettie is survived by her loving family: her son, Victor P. Chester and his wife, Gloria, of Bridgewater, N.J.;
her grandchildren, James Chester and his wife, Anna, and Linda Chester; and by her seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters; Donna Seaman and her husband, Gerald "Jerry", of Mt. Pleasant, and Mary Krieger, of Greensburg.
In addition to her parents,
Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Victor P. Chester Sr., in 2001;
her brothers, Ralph and Sam Gangi, both in 1998; and by her sister, Jessie Gangi Garner, in 2011.
Family and friends will be received
from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, the time of her funeral service at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
