I would appreciate any information about Ira CHESTER (b. circa 1840, Connecticut, d. 20 May 1906, Groton, CT) married circa 1882 to Mary Jane DONNELLY (b. abt. 1853, Ireland, d. abt. 1921, Groton, CT).
They lived for many years on School Street in Groton, CT. Ira was possibly a private in 26th CT infantry, Company K during the civil war. Census information on occupations vary from mariner to pilot (ocean/river) to gardener.
They had two daughters, one of whom, Eva D CHESTER (b. 1887, CT, d. 11 Apr 1956, Groton, CT) lived in the School Street address for many years. The other daughter was Lizzie C, about whom I know nothing.
Any information would be appreciated.

I recently posted my genealogical research to a public site I
established. The site contains approximately 25,000 entries. My
grandparents include the names CHESTER, REDFERN/REDFEARN, HUTTON, NANCE,
VOGEL, WERTMAN, COPE, and HODSON/HODGSON. The site is free to use for
information with the standard caveat that I am not responsible for any
inacuracies or incomplete entries. I welcome corrections and additions.
This is a hobby, not a religion!

Several years ago I bought a book of pictures at an Antique store. Several had names on the backs. One had from: Nan and Will Chester. Other names on pictures were: Birtha Maurer, Grandma Maurer, Oliver Edward Rickers or Bickers and Mrs. W.A. Stevens. I would like to return these pictures to family members. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jim,
Yes Martha was in the Quaker Meeting House in Chester Co. When she married Thomas Long who was Church of England in Wilmington, DE. she was disowned in the Quaker Meeting House. They disappear at this point and I can't find them anywhere. I desperately need to fill this hole where they lived and died. I am able to follow their son Edward our line from his 2nd marriage in 18 Jan. 1762 with Jane Jones in Augusta Co., VA. We just got home from there and wasn't able to find Thomas there either. Thank you so much for your response.
Sandra Long
