I am trying to trace Walter Chester born Stanley Wakefield 1888 , also lived in Featherstone. Served in WW1 and survived but last known connection I have is a Christmas Card dated 1917 from France to his brother Cornelius.

Thanks for info, but from my research it may not be correct.
The 1852 Census lists A.H. Chester (Augustus Horatio?), wife Catherine (Lehigh?), and Phoebe age 17 (ie b abt 1835.
Rootsweb WorldConnect Project Belanger/Phillips says This Phoebe married Thomas Chester 13 Oct 1852.
1901 Census lists Thomas Chester with wife Phoeba, b 29 Oct 1834.
Frederick Weedmark married a Phoebe Chester (likely a different Phoebe) 8 Jan 1839
1852 Census and 1861 Census list Frederick and Pheabea (or Mrs Weedmark, born about 1823. She died 1863, and he remarried Mary Jane Copeland.
This is the different Phoebe I am interested in. I think she may be a daughter of (Pvt) John Chester and 2nd wife (Jane Langdon?), as 1823 Census shows him with wife and 2 daughters (Ursula and Phoebe above?), after first wife Phoebe Brown died (1806-1817?), but I have no other information, hence ny query.
If the above is correct the weekmark connection is with this Phoebe (b 1823 d 1863)and not with the Phoebe descended from Augustus and Catherine (b 1834 d 1917).
I am doing research for a cousin, a Hawn descendant.
Anything you can add or verify will be appreciated.

I can give you the connection.
Pheobe Chester born 1821 was the daughter of Augustus Chester 1810-1853 and Catherine Lehigh. Augustus was son of Thomas Chester 1791-? and Mary Stafford. Thomas was the son of Pvt John Chester and Phebe Brown.
So if you're related to Phoebe and Frederik then we're distant cousins as they are my relatives as well.
I'm descended from their daughter Sarah J. Weedmark.

I'm not a big help as I have about the same info as you on John and Phebe, but I can say I'm related through a completely different Weedmark marriage, from looking at both our lines I can say that Michael Chester's brother Thomas had a son Augustus and his daughter Phebe married, Frederik Weedmark who in turn is Andiram's brother.
I don't know where you live, but the Chester and Weedmark graves can be found in the Ottawa Valley, they are old but worth seeing.
