I'm trying to find any information about William Henry Chester, son of Thomas Chester and Sarah Fontaine/Fontains (according to his marriage certificate). His children's birth certificates (Australian) say he was born in Ramsgate. He was married in Sydney, NSW in 1884 to Annie Louisa Campbell and died in Perth, Western Australia in 1920 after working as an engine driver in Southern Cross for many years. None of his descendants know anything about his past, siblings, parents etc., only that he came from Kent. I can't even find shipping records for him directly into NSW. He was a caretaker at the time of his marriage. The closest I have come is a William Chester born in Ramsgate in 1851 to Thomas but in the 1851 census the wife in the household is Jane.
If anyone knows anything about this family or where I can get more information I would be very grateful to hear from you.

You may want to look at these.
I am curious about a Phoebe Chester b. 1821 who married Frederick Weedmark in 1839. She may be a daughter of John Chester, but so far no trace of the connection. Does anyone know?
