The Cully family, parents John and Cecilia with daughter Cecilia age 3, emigrated from Scotland to Pennsylvania around 1924. A son John was born 1925 in Ligonier Pennsylvania.
John snr was a stable manager and trainer and John jr followed in his footsteps. He was apparently well known and earned a fine repuation over the years before he died in Chester County (Unionville?) in 1990. He may have married a Joy Hall.
Cecilia jr moved to California when she retired and later to Kentucky with her son and his family. She died in Kentucky in 1999
I would appreciate any information from anyone who knows of the family or the Cully connection in the equestrian world.

I noticed there isn't a CHESTER Y DNA project at FTDNA. Is there any interest? If you want to discuss this, please email me directly. I would especially like to hear from any men on the list/board who still carry the surname CHESTER. My own CHESTER line is in New Jersey: Joseph CHESTER b: 13 MAY 1752 d: 18 JUL 1818 (dates from Dr. Hand's 1966 article in the Cape May mag). Joseph's daughter, Sarah CHESTER m. Samuel Springer b.1789.
thnx,
melissa
