I am trying to find the parents of my gggrandfather
Samuel Durham b. abt 1843 in Ohio, from Census I have
it states both his parents were born in Ohio also.
I am trying to link my Samuel Durham with the Durhams
that pretty much were pioneers of Ohio, possiably
decendents of Aquilla Durham.
Information I have is that he was raised by Samuel
Chester and his wife Elizabeth. In 1850 Census Ohio,
Pickaway, Monroe, Samuel age seven was in their home.
I am looking for help in determining that either
Samuel Chester's mother was a Durham or his wife
Elizabeth was a Durham????
By 1860 Samuel Durham was still living with them but
they were in Ill. Vermilion Co. town of Danville. This
is where Samuel married Elizabeth Wright in 1868.
I think Samuel's parents were deceased or something
and that is why the Chester family were raising him.
From what I know of that time frame, usually a family
member took the children in, that is why I am looking
for a connection with Chester and Durham's.
Anyone having information about the Durhams in
Hamilton County, and their children etc. and any info
on Chester family, would be greatly appreciated.
Barbara
