I am seeking info about a tall, handsome, blue eyed, red headed man who
rescued a tiny widow and reared her kids as his own. J.O.( initials only. AKA
Bud) CHESTER probably was born in Louisiana in Nov. 1874, but reared in
either Ind.Terr or Texas.
Katie Leona BAMFORD married John Wesley AUSTIN. In Jan of 1900 she found
herself pregnant with two small children burying her husband in Fort Smith
Arkansas.
She started cooking and taking in sewing on ranches to support her
children. One day she met an unusual man who was building houses on the
ranch where she worked. He was unusual because he did not ride horses, but
did train them. He also had a love of books and reading.
In a very short time they joined into a marriage that lasted until her
death in 1956.
They lived in Indian Territory, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Their childrens names were Eddie, John Felix, and Mae AUSTIN and Thomas
Arthur (aka Rocky or Red) and Nina Ruth.
They never visited family nor did family visit them. So, I figure out there
somewhere is a researcher who has a CHESTER who had a brother, J.O.(Bud) who
seeningly dropped off the west or east Texas earth. If that is you, I sure
would like to hear from you. Thanks, Leona

I'm searching for any info on my ggg grandfather John Chester, Sr. born 1787 in NC and was in TN about 1820. He married Sarah/Sallie ? who was born in GA in 1798. The marriage may have taken place in NC? Their children were Levi L., Henry Jackson, John, Jr., Mary, Susan, Elizabeth Frances and Montgomery Chester. I think there may be a possiblity that he is related to a Jacob Chester b. 1805, who was from NC or SC and migrated to TN thru Christian Co., KY?? Would appreciate any info from anyone. Thanks.
